WTF Endorsement: Seema Singh Perez for Knoxville City Council District 3

WTF is proud to announce its endorsement of Seema Singh Perez for City Council District 3 in Knoxville’s November 7, 2017 election. Seema is a first-time candidate, who has called the 3rd district home for over 40 years. During the Primary Election at the end of August, in which the top two candidates move on to the General Election, Seema came in second of four candidates, earning 199 (25%) votes. The first place finisher earned 377 (48%) votes.

WTF Endorsement: Lauren Rider for Knoxville City Council District 4

WTF is proud to announce its endorsement of Lauren Rider for City Council District 4 in Knoxville’s November 7, 2017 election. Lauren is a first-time candidate running for the District 4 seat that was last held by a woman 16 years ago. During the Primary Election at the end of August, in which the top two candidates move on to the General Election, Lauren came in first of five candidates, earning 889 votes or 44% of the vote. The second place finisher earned 488 votes, only 24% of the vote. Lauren earned the endorsement of the Knoxville News Sentinel where they praised Lauren for her “energy, passion, ideas and commitment to work” to make her vision a reality.
