Meet our Executive Director Sarah McCall

Throughout her career, Sarah has worked to develop the political potential of women, LGBT people, young people and people with disabilities by providing candidates the tools and skills they need to run for office and win. She most recently served as WTF’s expansion director and as campaign manager for Anne Martin’s successful bid for Chancery Court Judge in Davidson County, TN. Sarah also consulted with Emerge Tennessee during the organization’s successful statewide launch. Prior to moving to Tennessee two years ago, Sarah consulted with national organizations such as Emerge America, NARAL Pro-Choice America and the American Association of People with Disabilities and served as Founding Executive Director of Emerge Vermont – the only organization in Vermont dedicated to recruiting, training and inspiring Democratic women to run for office. Before Emerge Vermont, Sarah served in many roles at the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Leadership Institute, the nation’s leading organization that identifies, trains and supports LGBT candidates, campaign staff and public officials. She has worked on political campaigns across the country at every level of office, from city council and state legislature to governor and congress. In 2015, after years of recruiting other women to run, Sarah ran for the Burlington, VT City Council herself, coming up 67 votes short. Sarah earned a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Colorado and currently resides in West Nashville.
