Councilwoman Lauren Rider is running for re-election to the Knoxville City Council in District 4. First elected in 2017, she is a mom, librarian, long-time community leader and faculty member at Pellissippi State Community College. In her first term in office, she supported job growth and fostered stronger neighborhoods through zoning code and walkability improvements. She is running on a platform of addressing housing shortages, prioritizing infrastructure improvements, and ensuring Knoxville’s long-term recovery from COVID-19.

Her Primary Election is on August 31st and General Election Day is November 2, 2021.
