Meet Mayor Kim McMillan
Mayor Kim McMillan is in a 4-way, non-partisan race in her re-election campaign for Mayor of Clarksville. Mayor McMillan has served two 4 year terms as Mayor and will be term-limited after 3 consecutive 4 year terms. She was the first female elected Mayor of any Tennessee city with a population in excess of 100,000. Before being elected Mayor, Kim served in the Tennessee General Assembly for 12 years. While serving, Kim was elected as Majority Leader of the Tennessee House of Representatives, the first woman to serve in this position in either Chamber of the General Assembly. Kim went on to serve in Governor Phil Bredesen’s cabinet as Senior Policy Advisor.
Mayor McMillan believes in the people of Clarksville, the incredible economic opportunities that have been generated under her leadership and the exceptional quality of life in Clarksville. If elected for a third term, Mayor McMillan will continue push for projects like the Clarksville Family Athletic Complex, the Clarksville Downtown Performing Arts Center and improved infrastructure and transportation systems. This goes hand in hand with providing our law enforcement with the tools they need to keep Clarksville safe. Kim believes that her main campaign issue is to continue to make Clarksville the best city in America to live, work and raise our families.
Her General Election Day is November 6, 2018.
